Mind Control by Pretty & Polished

Mind Control by Pretty & Polished is a beautiful chunky glitter. The glitter is made up of a blue and gold micro glitter and medium square turquoise glitter. I had no issues applying this glitter. I thought that I would since my bottle was a mini, but there weren't any troubles. The glitter came out of the bottle and transferred onto the nail beautifully.

Mind Control has a clear base and in the pictures I chose not to use a base color to show the polish as it stands alone. I like to wear my glitters like this sometimes. I like the simplicity ;-).

What do you think of Mind Control?

Pretty & Polished Sand Art

Sand Art has been on a lot of people's radar. I'd heard so much about it that I realized I must have it. I needed to see what all the hype was about. Sand Art looks just like Sand art. Do you remember layering sand? Well, yeah it's like that.

Sand Art, the polish,  looks like this:

It's gorgeous. I layered it on top of
Julep's Sasha found here

Here are more pictures of my lovely combination:

I added an accent nail using the Yellow from
The New Black Runway Kit.

Sand Art layered nicely in this manicure. I had no issues with application or formula. I'm so glad I bought a Full size of this one. I received so many compliments on this mani. My boys said my nails looked like candy. I even heard they looked like jawbreakers. :-) I did explain that was another polish.

Do you like Sand Art? What is you opinion of it? Please share below.

Swing from Pretty & Polished

I know a lot of us have been into Indies lately and I'm no exception. I have definitely been into Pretty & Polished polishes lately. The one that I'm going to show you today is Swing. I bought this back when she opened up to sell only minis. I now know that I NEED a full size of this!

Swing has a red jelly base with varying shapes and sizes of black and white glitters. Did I ever tell you guys that I love black, white and red combination? If not I'm telling you now. I'm in love with this polish. Take a look at the bottle shot:

It looks so pretty!!

I was surprised at how easily it applied. The formula is good as well. I just wished I could get more of the big chunks to the top. I had to do a few upside down maneuvers to get to the goods, but it was worth it. This polish is jelly heaven!!

I applied two coats and a top coat. Because Swing is a jelly it allows for a great layered effect with the glitters. I really need a Full size Swing immediately!!

You can find Pretty & Polished on Facebook for up to date news.

What do you think of Swing? Do you have it?

Pretty & Polished: Beach Bum

Beach Bum is a Polish from the indie make Pretty & Polished. According to Pretty & Polished Beach Bum is, "hunky blue polish. It is packed with blue glitters and has some gorgeous greens throw in! Look for the oh so daring blue square glitter as well!"

Beach Bum is so pretty. I love it. I'm not to sure about the application. I like how it has a jelly base, but it was hard to polish in thin layers. You have to pack on the polish which makes for a long dry time between coats.

I believe this is a 3-4 coater by itself. You may be able to minimize the coats by adding a blue base color. I love this polish though! I don't think I can say that enough! I loved the ocean-y feel to it. It makes me wanna take a swim :-) This is a genius creation! I'm a blue polish hoarder and I knew I needed this.

Judge for yourself:

(artificial Light no flash)
This is pretty much the true to life color. I think a
base color would have made it appear a lot more solid
and less speckled-looking.

All pictures are 3 coats.

Beauty Shot! :-)

What do you think of Beach Bum? Do you have it?

You can find Pretty & Polished on Facebook and her Etsy store.

Pretty & Polished Hemi-Sphere

Pretty & Polished Hemi-Sphere is a gorgeous dark green with hints of gold shimmer throughout. This was a dream to apply and I LOVE IT! I didn't expect to love this polish the way I do and silly me. I only bought a mini *insert sad face here.* I will be stalking her Etsy to get my hands on a Full size.

According to Pretty & Polished Hemi-Sphere is:

"The gorgeous dark sister of Sphere. This is also a gold to green subtle color changing polish. Except Hemi-Sphere was created to be a little more dark and devious than Sphere. It is a gorgeous shade of green with amazing golden sparkle and shifts from gold to green in certain lights. You can't miss out on this amazing deviant of a polish!"

I didn't see any shifts from Gold to green, but that's fine with me. You can, however, see the gold love throughout and again I LOVE IT!!

What do you think of Hemi-sphere?

I can honestly say that Pretty & Polished has some great polishes. Remember these beauties

As Always thanks for reading,

Pretty & Polished

Are you aware that they're lots of people out there making and creating their own polishes and brands? This is a fun idea and a lot of their work is good and in fact, a lot of them sell out as soon as they open their Etsy shops.

I recently bought four mini polishes from Pretty & Polished. Two that I have today are Forgery and Toy with Me. The other two I just purchased two days ago so I don't have those yet. I'll show you the pictures of the polishes so you can see them. I applied them to my swatchicles (will post about these later) to show them off.

Forgery is, according to Pretty & Polished, "a matte glitter top coat." The glitter is also suppose to shift from  green to purple with a hint of gold flecks.

Pretty little mini :-)

These next  two pictures are Forgery over Black from e.l.f. Showing the Fleck effect. This polish has a matte finish so there is no top coat. Can you see the Flecks?

This is a really pretty fleck. The flecks are very small, yet Prominent.

This picture has Forgery with no base color and a top coat.

Side by side: Black base color matte finish vs. no base color and Top coat. Which do you like better? I love it as a fleck!

Toy with Me, "This is a magical matte polish that changes colors (purple to green) and has the smallest hint of tiny green micro-glitter. Can be layered or worn as a top coat."  In the picture below I can see a Holo effect with a green and purple mix.

This picture shows the matte finish of Toy With Me. Can you see the tiny Purple and Green?

This picture shows Toy With Me with a top coat. I truly think I would wear this either way. I think it's gorgeous both ways plus you can wear this over another color if you choose.

What do you think of the Pretty & Polished polishes? Do you have any? What colors do you have? I'm currently waiting on Hemi-sphere and Jawbreaker :-)
